Aerospace Engineer - Air Systems

Description
  1. Support Flight Testing Activities, including but not limited to:
    1. Discuss and review test plans and preparation activities.
    2. Help determine test specifications (based upon system architecture).
    3. Attend Ground/Flight Test briefing and debriefings
    4. Participate in Test Readiness Reviews and ensure on-time Engineering deliverables.
    5. Generate developmental engineering drawings and instrumentation change requests as required.
    6. Monitor live flight data, typically via telemetry, during flight test on aircraft.
    7. Create and review Aircraft Restrictions
    8. Create and review Aircraft Troubleshootings
    9. Create, review and approve ground test procedures, flight test procedures and their corresponding test reports.
    10. Coordinate with suppliers to review technical data, certification requirements and troubleshoot any issues with supplies.
    11. Process, analyze, and draw conclusions from post flight data.
    12. Identify non-conformances, quality escapes, etc. to create rejection tags.
    13. Make assessments to ensure safety of flight determination.
    14. Document flight test design problems for long term fix.
    15. Generate and review appropriate limitations documentation.
    16. Write flight test results reports.
  2. Complete special projects and tasks assigned by Group Lead.
Qualifications
  • Level Requirements (Minimum):
    Education
     
  • Four (4) year degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Avionics, Electrical, or Instrumentation). 
    • Other Engineering fields may be considered.
  • Experience
     
  • Four (4) years aerospace engineering experience in air systems, including experience in aircraft cabin temperature controls, low pressure cabin air distribution, avionics cooling, cabin pressurization, fire protection and anti-ice systems.

  • Strong knowledge of flight test operations and flight certification, including knowledge of aircraft cabin temperature controls, low pressure cabin air distribution, avionics cooling, cabin pressurization, fire protection and anti-ice systems.

    • Computer Skills: Comfortable and effective working in Microsoft Office. Intermediate Excel proficiency required. Able to quickly learn new software and systems. 
    • Proven track record of improving the efficiency of assigned processes or procedures.
