JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for the development and support of new/existing production processes, procedures, tooling, capital equipment, cost reductions, continual improvement programs and supporting documentation necessary to manufacture and deliver high quality products to our customers on time.  Assures effective use of materials, equipment and associates in manufacturing high quality products at minimum costs.  May direct one or more Manufacturing Engineering technicians. 

JOB DUTIES
  • Responsible for the activities related to the development and support of Printed Circuit Board processes including analyzing & improving quality, capacity, and capability.
  • Perform root cause corrective action analysis, process capability studies and implement process controls to ensure process performance requirements are met and sustained.
  • Develop and implement equipment, materials, and process performance requirements; performs vendor searches and equipment evaluation to ensure adequate capability to reduce quality product in required quantities at an effective cost.
  • Develops and performs complex designed Experiment (DOE) and capability studies, develops process specifications, and designs and procures process tooling.
  • Develops process and equipment documentation and trains personnel on new processes, materials and equipment.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in implementing technical and strategic initiatives.
  • Provide technical support for new product launches including establishing process recipes, tooling and performing Design for Manufacturing (DFM) reviews identifying improvements for manufacturability.
  • Lead new technology development with emphasis in continuous improvement and benchmarking.  
  • Provide timely and effective technical support for day-to-day problem resolution impacting production output, quality, safety and costs.
  • Ensure that new and existing processes are safe, ergonomically friendly while meeting all State, Federal and Environmental laws. Helps to assure that work areas are clean and well organized.
  • Communicate with your Supervisor in regard to progress in assigned areas as well as reporting any unique problems along with recommendations as to their solutions.
  • Effectively communicates with other departments, supervisors and managers, including participation in and/or facilitation of meetings.
  • Promotes a positive can do attitude.
 
  • Provide technical leadership of diverse engineering disciplines, project planning, and provide
technical solutions to customer requirements including, but not limited to, ITAR/EAR/EAR99 classifications, communication for customer configurations, and ultimate program execution following contract award ensuring 100% compliance with the Departments of State and Commerce.  Will also participate in ongoing team meetings to identify requirements, specifications, export classifications, timelines and customer expectations.
  • Travels as situations arise pertaining to the job, as deemed necessary
  • Previous experience in Conformal Coating applications, hardware and through-hole technology

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
 
  • Bachelor Degree in an Engineering field.
  • 5 years minimum related experience in Electro-Mechanical Manufacturing.
  • Experience in a highly regulated manufacturing industry with additional experience in electronic assembly, molding and/or conformal coat manufacturing processes preferred.
  • High aptitude for MS Office and database applications required, experience working with CAD is a plus.
  • Demonstrated proficiency for oral and written communication.
