As a CNC and/or manual Machinist you will play an important role in our shop.   You will have the opportunity to work with an amazing team of tradespeople. You will learn about our world-class products and will have the opportunity to proudly apply your skills in machining on our equipment.
  • Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
  • Plans stock inventory by checking stock is correct to the part being made.
  • Programs mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tools, offsets, compensation; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs.
  • Sets-up mills and/or lathes by installing and adjusting three-jaw chucks, installing and indicating vices, fixture plates, parallels, tools, attachments, stops.
  • Loads machine by lifting stock into position either into a vice, three jaw chuck or to a fixture plate/parallels.
  • Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces; adhering to international standards.
  • Ability to take measurements accurately using various measurement tools; micrometers, calipers, set up and read bore gage.
To succeed in this role, you will need: 
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Certificate or diploma in CNC Machine Tool a plus
  • 2-3 years’ experience as a CNC or manual machine operator.
  • Ability to translate mechanical documents and engineering drawings.
  • Great attention to detail with a goal-driven attitude.
  • Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions.
  • Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
  • Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task.
  • Experience with Vertical Lathes and/or Horizontal Boring Machines
