Primary Purpose:
The procurement managers role assists the engineering team in delivery of Engineer, Procure, Construct “EPC” projects for high value clients.  This role is accountable to global Plant Engineering Delivery team ensuring maintenance of anticipate project margin and delivering according to contracted schedules.  This is highly entrepreneurial role within an entrepreneurial organization.  Fundamentally this position manages risk on high exposure projects while positioning the business for double digit growth.

  • Prepare and processing purchase orders and requisitions for materials, supplies, and equipment.
  • Manage and monitor all open purchase orders
  • Support sourcing in negotiating pricing, terms, and schedules with strategic suppliers and support supplier development through ongoing supplier audits and scorecard implementation, and corrective action processes.
  • Procure parts and materials at negotiated rate
  • Develop a supply and production plan to ensure timely delivery to our customers
  • Manage and develop standard supplier procedures and guidelines.
  • Manage supplier qualification, performance, and development.
  • Develop total cost reduction strategies and implement cost reduction programs.
  • Identifying and implementing process enhancements to drive continuous improvement
  • Global scope for contract management and processing while collaborating with partners
  • Collaboration with US Based and Internal based Legal organizations,
  • Preparing, executing, and archiving relevant procurement legal documents (including MSAs, amendments, schedules, NDSAs, etc.)
  • Negotiate with suppliers on non-commercial contract terms to minimize enterprise risk
  • Managing document processes/approvals required for general business and SOX compliance
  • Create and implement Supply Chain Roadmap to support Revenue of the Business.
  • Assisting with other projects as necessary, including reporting on relevant productivity and velocity metrics.
Education, Experience, Qualities and Skills Required:
  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or similar technology disciplines.
  • 3 - 10 years of direct purchasing experience, 3+ years of Purchasing Management experience
  • Highly professional with superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and project management skills and significant attention to detail while managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong negotiation skills, history of formalized training,
  • Skilled in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and project management tools
  • Experienced in purchasing within Manufacturing and Construction environments
  • Ability to read Engineering BOM’s, construction drawings
  • Experience with buying purchased or commercial parts, creating performance guarantees
  • Experience with international purchasing and sourcing including ability to interact and work with teams which are geographically dispersed.
  • Able to multitask and meet changing deadlines, self-directed and able to complete multiple projects with limited supervision.
  • Demonstrated initiative, good judgment, accountability, self-management, self-coaching, skills are essential
  • Experience working for engineering or architectural firms, construction companies, or consulting companies.
  • This is a collaborative position; required to work closely with engineers, drafting personnel, and various projects team and other technical agencies.
  • Able to work cross functionally with all levels of the organization
