The Chief Engineer: Lunar Lander will lead the design, assembly, test and operations of the lunar lander. The ideal candidate will have experience with the full life cycle of space programs from conception to operations and have proven success in leading engineering teams to achieve ambitious goals.
Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical decision-making process and guide technical development across all lunar lander subsystems disciplines 
  • Lead technical reviews, engineering change, and configuration management process adherence
  • Oversee vehicle level systems engineering processes including trade studies, applying industry standards, requirements development, verification and validation planning
  • Identify technical issues and proactively implements resolutions to mitigate schedule and cost impacts
  • Provide technical mentorship to team members and monitor technical integrity of all team member contributions
 
Professional Requirements
  • A Bachelor’s degree, Master’s or PhD preferred -- in Aerospace, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience as the technical lead designing, developing, building, and testing of spacecraft or satellites.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in design, development, test, and operations across multiple programs
  • Experience taking a product from concept phase through prototyping, launch and operations
  • Must be able to quickly develop subject matter expertise in a specific project.
  • Previous experience in a technical leadership role for a complex aerospace project.
  • A strong grasp of systems engineering practices 
  • Excellent communication skills
Additional Desired Skills and Experience --  
  • A minimum of 10 years experience in design, development, test, and operations across multiple programs 
  • Experience with lunar or deep space missions and technology development for these missions
  • Hands on experience in assembly, integration and testing of space hardware
