Our client is a  full-service environmental, architectural, and engineering consulting firm that assists clients with environmental due diligence, regulatory compliance, and engineering design services.
Currently seeking an experienced Accounting Clerk II to perform a variety of accounting, bookkeeping and financial tasks. This position is located at our company’s Saint Louis MO headquarters.
Accounting Clerk II responsibilities include keeping financial records updated and preparing reports. In addition, the successful applicant will run accounting software programs (e.g. SAP, Quickbooks) to process business transactions, like accounts payable and receivable, disbursements, expense vouchers and receipts. An effective candidate should be familiar with all accounting procedures, have an in-depth understanding of business financial practices, and be attentive to details.
The successful Accounting Clerk II will be imperative to ensuring the company’s daily accounting functions run accurately and effectively.

Responsibilities
  • Provide accounting and clerical support to the Controller/Director of Finance
  • Type accurately; prepare and maintain accounting documents and records
  • Prepare bank deposits, general ledger postings and statements
  • Reconcile accounts in a timely manner
  • Daily enter key data of financial transactions in database
  • Provide assistance and support to Project Managers and Regional Vice Presidents
  • Research, track and restore accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies
  • Inform management and compile reports/summaries on activity areas
  • Function in accordance with established standards, procedures and applicable laws
  • Constantly update job knowledge
Qualifications

The successful applicant will demonstrate the following:
  • At a minimum, an Associates degree in Accounting or similar
  • 2 to 6 years of accounting experience as an Accounts Receivables Clerk or Accounts Payable Clerk
  • 10-key by touch skill
  • Competency with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures
  • Competency in MS Office, databases and accounting software
  • Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Aptitude for numbers
  • Ability to perform filing and record keeping tasks
  • Data entry and word processing skills
  • Well organized
