Our client in Tallassee, AL is seeking an International Trade Compliance Manager

In this role you will be responsible for development, implementation and management of an export control system to comply with Federal Regulations such as the International Traffic and Arms Regulations (ITAR) for export of Military Goods, and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) for export of commercial goods.  

•    Develop, maintain and amend internal procedures in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.

•    Prepare application for and administer complex export licenses, agreements and amendments required by regulations.

•    Monitor compliance with approved licenses and agreements.

•    Counsel, advise and assist personnel with export licensing authorization-using knowledge of Government regulations.

•    Conduct employee awareness and compliance training programs on Export/Import.

•    Keep current with and interpret U.S. Government regulations.

•    Interface with freight forwarders, U.S. Customs, Department of State and Department of Commerce Officials to resolve or answer problems concerning client's export licenses and shipments.

•    Administer any classified program that the client may acquire to ensure customer and Department of Defense (DOD) compliance.

•    Audit program/functional departments to ensure compliance with Export / Patens / Proprietary Agreement provisions.

•    Interface with company and outside legal representation on matters related to licenses.

•    Administer Patents and Intellectual Property Agreements 

•    As a member of management, establish and communicate the vision and mission for the Company and ensure the creation of strategies and processes that focus and empower employees to meet and exceed the expectations of our customers, fellow employees, and Senior Management.

•    Prepare and conduct regular employee performance reviews with each direct report at least once each year, as assigned.

•    Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed or assigned

Qualifications
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE GUIDELINES:
•    BA/BS (or applicable work experience of 7+ years performing related tasks) required.  
•    5-7 years professional experience required working with International Traffic in Arms Regulations, Export Administration Regulations, US Customs Regulations and the Federal Trade Regulations 

      REQUIRED SKILL IN:
•    Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills required. 
•    Requires excellent written communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate, with a customer-oriented attitude. 
•    Familiarity with U.S. government regulations, procedures and organizations is highly desired.  
•    The ability to interpret complex and/or detailed regulations, with limited guidance and/or direction required.  
•    Position requires an individual who is a self-starter, detailed oriented and well organized.  
•    Subject to Government Security Investigation and must meet eligibility for access to classified information.  
•    Strong personal computer and Internet skills required.
